Reliable Performance Under Extreme Temperature Changes

Thermal shock testing evaluates the ability of electronic and mechatronic components to withstand rapid temperature changes without mechanical damage or loss of functionality.

With more than 15 years of hands-on experience in environmental testing and automotive validation, Eifel AQL Engineering specializes in the planning, technical coordination and evaluation of air-to-air Thermal Shock Testing according to IEC 60068-2-14.

Test programs are defined according to the applicable standard, customer specifications and product-specific requirements.

During the development of our in-house Thermal Shock testing facility, test execution is carried out in cooperation with qualified partner laboratories. Eifel AQL Engineering remains your technical point of contact throughout the project — from requirement review and test planning to coordination and documentation.

Our services help manufacturers identify potential weaknesses, evaluate product durability and support reliable product validation.

Testing Standards

Our thermal shock testing focuses on IEC 60068-2-14 and supports testing requirements based on relevant international and industry-specific standards, including:

  • IEC 60068-2-14 – Environmental Testing, Test Na / Nb

  • ISO 16750-4 – Electrical and Electronic Equipment for Road Vehicles

  • LV 124 / VW 80000 – Automotive Component Requirements

  • MIL-STD-810H – Environmental Engineering Considerations

  • JEDEC JESD22-A106 – Thermal Shock Testing

  • MIL-STD-202 – Electronic Component Testing

Test parameters are defined according to the applicable standard and customer-specific requirements.

Industries & Applications

Our thermal shock testing services support manufacturers and developers across multiple industries:

  • Automotive & E-Mobility

  • Electronic control units, sensors, connectors, battery electronics, and other automotive components.

  • Electronics & Semiconductors

  • Printed circuit boards, electronic assemblies, solder joints, and semiconductor packages.

  • Aerospace & Industrial Technology

  • Electronic and mechatronic components exposed to demanding environmental conditions.

Beyond Testing

We combine thermal shock testing with engineering consultancy, supporting customers with qualification planning, Design Verification Plans (DVP&R), technical documentation, and OEM requirements.
